TRAININGS

Vision Mission and strategy

(2020-2023)

The Bapu Trust has recently started a Training Department, with the idea of spreading and scaling its vision to other states, to the Asia Pacific region; and reaching our message of inclusion of persons with psychosocial disabilities to the policy makers and other stakeholders.

Our trainings have the broad purpose of creating more and more communities, organizations and individuals who bring a community inclusion perspective to their work with people; who have necessary skill sets to practice support giving and care giving for persons with psychosocial disabilities; who address caring for self and others; and who would like to regain their personal aspirations, peace of mind, autonomy and negotiate their terms of independence and interdependence, within their immediate social and life contexts.

For example, can we focus on Article 8 of the CRPD (Awareness raising), and see how far, how deep and how widespread such an effort can be; and to see further, whether such a broad based effort can transform communities towards inclusion of persons with disabilities?

The mission of the Department is:

  • To develop training as one of the core competency areas of the BT (BT Institute of Training & Development)
  • To make trainings inclusive and accessible so that different stakeholder groups, (cross disability, indigenous, tribal, in conflict areas, LGBTQ, disasters and risk situations etc) can access and engage with inclusion of persons with psychosocial disabilities
  • To revolutionize trainings in the areas of psychosocial support, wellness, Inclusion (Disability Inclusive Development) by taking a leadership role in creating curricula, educational materials, online platforms, and other resources.
  • To mentor training teams and partners who will nurture a new discourse in psychosocial wellbeing and disability inclusion
